Twenty-two months of work have culminated in a Grand Opening of the Trans-Canada 150x2 Exhibition at Galerie 203 in Old Montreal.
Montreal artist Carol Loeb and her best friend Alison Grapes travelled the Trans-Canada Highway in 2017 from Newfoundland to British Columbia, stopping every 150 km to document what they found and producing one painting based upon each stop. The result is a series of 106 paintings that show the landscapes of Canada from the east coast to the west.
Global Montreal did a piece on the exhibition and talked to Carol and Alison about their experience.
The story begins at 4:28 in the video below.
Carol currently teaches at Lower Canada College in Montreal, and Alison recently retired from the Saskatoon School Board.
The exhibition runs until July 5th at Galerie 203, rue Notre Dame Ouest H2Y1T4, Montréal.
