An hours-long police operation in Montreal's Saint-Léonard borough led to one man's arrest and the discovery of a body inside a home.

According to a spokesperson with the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), the operation began just before 5 a.m. on Monday, after police received a 911 call about a person who had been injured with a sharp object inside a residence.

That residence is located near the corner of Belherbe Street and Lacordaire Boulevard.
